Holvi working space in Hämeenlinna main library

The working space has motion detector lights. If you stay still for some time the lights may turn off but movement will turn the light on. There are also reading lights at every table.

The purpose of the space is to use Hämeenlinna library reference material. The reservation has to be made at least five days in advance so that our staff has time to collect the material you want to examine.

Please notify in the additional information field of the reservation form what kind of material you want to examine.

Newspaper microfilm (including Hämeen sanomat) are available in The National Archives of Finland Hämeenlinna branch. When using newspaper volumes, the terms and conditions of the National Archives apply. For more information, please phone 029 533 7140. In the Digital Archives of the National Archives of Finland it is possible to browse Finnish newspapers from 1771 to 1939 and magazines digitized until 1939. The material is available free of charge. You may use your own index words when browsing the material. Individual issues are available for downloading in PDF form and therefore also easy to print out for reading. The service provides Hämeen Sanomat volumes 1878-1939 and Hämäläinen -newspaper volumes from 1858 to 1901.

ePress-service archive provides many local and regional issues from the last 24 months. The service is available when using the libary customer computers and the library wireless network. The service includes Hämeen Sanomat, Keski-Häme and Janakkalan Sanomat.
